When happiness knocks on your door, you open it!

Action Déco exhibits at Affordable Art Fair of New York

Our current happiness, at Action Deco, is very precisely called New York. The great lady came knocking on our door recently in the person of Geneviève Lévesque, owner of Galerie Artêria in Bromont.

-

She and I have known each other professionally for some time now. I have had the pleasure of hosting various information meetings with her for artists. One of these meetings was a webinar on "How to approach galleries". In short, with tact, gentleness and patience, words that do not always fit me. I have a tendency to be very (too) enthusiastic, to arrive with so much energy that it can give the impression to the other person that I am presenting myself using a plow and not on the back of a unicorn.

-

It's a bit in this fear of disturbing that I didn't dare to approach Genevieve with our reproductions and she thought that we were printing without limits of quantity. In short, two people walking side by side, ogling each other out of the corner of their eyes, without really talking to each other.

-

It was only recently that something clicked, in a natural and fluid way. I shyly sent her an email, ready to put on as many white gloves as possible to get her attention. And Geneviève simply replied that yes, repros are accepted in international exhibitions, they just have to be limited editions.

-

Well, what do you know! This is one of the distinctions of Action Déco, the limited editions. And that's how it all clicked, in two email exchanges and a snap of the fingers. It all came together that afternoon and now two of our artists, Val Escoubet and Caroline Durocher, will have reproductions presented at the Afforfable Art Fair in New York this September 2022.

-

I am always happy and positive and it doesn't take much to get me excited when I receive good news. Imagine my excitement when this new relationship took shape! I was so out of it that I slipped on the stairs.

-

This realization is not too good to be true. It just is. The way it all fell into place, naturally and fluidly, is that this meeting was meant to be.

-

Did we plan this avenue? Not at all. We are all the more grateful because it is a beautiful and total surprise. For us at Action Déco, for our two star artists on the premises and also for all our artists who will have a small place in our portfolio which is also in New York.
