DS.KAMALA

Biography

Sophie DESPLAT alias DS.KAMALA was born in the Hauts-de-Seine in 1977. She now lives in the French region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. She is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist who expresses herself mainly through Digital Art that she can rework with embroidery or painting...

Since 1998, DS.KAMALA is a Textile & Surface Designer for interior decoration, graduated from the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Appliquées et des Métiers d'Art Olivier de Serres in Paris. In 2007, she started exhibiting her creations in trade shows, exhibitions and galleries.

Her taste for ornaments, colors and travels define her as an explorer of know-how and beauty through the different cultures of the world. The symbolism and mystery of life have always fascinated her. Nature and the living in general are inexhaustible sources of inspiration.

For a few years now Sophie has wanted to give her art a new dimension and contribute to its level. Her intention is to decorate people's lives and encourage them to take care of themselves, which is why she trained with David Lefrançois as a personal development coach in applied neuroscience and in humanitarian and social co-creative art therapy at the Accord Emerald School.

Now she proposes through her Art to connect to the Harmony and vibrations of colors as well as to the symbolism of the message that is transmitted. Then through her individual or group workshops to discover this awakening to personal development articulated around creativity and neuroscience.

Artistic approach

Digital Art is a contemporary technique that offers a multitude of possibilities both in terms of colors and means of expression.

The artistic approach of DS.KAMALA is mainly to tell stories and to highlight a theme or colored harmonies. After a research phase on the theme, she draws and gathers all the decorative elements which will compose the painting then merges them in digital. Once created on textiles such as velvet or satin, she can add pearls, plants or ceramics and reinterpret with embroidery or painting.
